How to Use the Compound Interest Calculator

Compound interest is the secret to building long-term wealth. It is the process of earning interest on your original money, and then earning interest on that interest. This tool shows you exactly how your initial savings and consistent monthly deposits multiply over time.

Here is how to map out your future wealth:

  • Select your currency: choose your preferred currency from the dropdown (defaults to ₱)
  • Enter your Initial Savings: input the amount of cash you have ready to invest right now. If you are starting from zero, just leave it at 0
  • Add your Monthly Deposit: enter the amount you can comfortably and consistently save or invest every single month
  • Input the Annual Interest Rate: enter your expected yearly return. (For example, use 4-6% for a high-yield digital bank, or 8-10% if estimating long-term stock market or mutual fund returns)
  • Set your Term: enter the number of years you plan to let this money grow untouched.

The calculator will update instantly as you type, revealing the exact mathematical future of your money.

Special Features

The Stacked Growth Chart

The interactive chart is designed to visualize the "snowball effect" of your investments over time.

  • The Blue Base (Total Contributions): this area represents the hard cash you actually deposited out of your own pocket.
  • The Green Layer (Interest Earned): this is your "free money"—the wealth generated purely by compound interest.
  • The Snowball Effect: hover over the later years on the right side of the graph. You will notice the green layer gets thicker and grows much faster than the blue base. That curve is compound interest doing the heavy lifting for you!

Real-Time Financial Snapshots

The three summary boxes above the chart give you an instant breakdown of your wealth timeline:

  • Total Contributions: every peso you physically saved.
  • Total Interest Earned: the exact profit generated by the interest rate.
  • Total Future Value: your final, combined wealth balance at the end of your selected term.
